Have been using M series humbuckers in my guitars now for 5-6 years. Great dynamic range and it's actually useable too, something that I think a lot of pickup manufacturers today miss (no point having a huge dynamic range if you have to go between picking as soft as a feather to full on sledgehammer to use it).
Shortly: these pickups are blast and really something else...
The Entire-story
Starting point:
Left-handed, multiscale, 7-string guitar + a complete nobody from Hungary who plays lead guitar in a Christian worship band. Yeah… pretty specific/unusual setup! I’m playing a Harley Benton R457LH Roasted Multiscale, and I was looking for a serious pickup set that also supports coil-splitting. I’m a huge Haken fan, which is how I discovered Lundgren Guitar Pickups. I also considered EMG actives and Seymour Duncans, but after tons of reviews and demos, everything kept pointing towards the Swedish boutique approach. I got in touch with Johan, who was super helpful and responsive, carefully taking into account the fanned frets, 7-string, and left-handed aspects. The M7C set was finished very quickly and arrived in premium packaging. Payment was smooth and secure as well. A top-level guitar tech installed the pickups, and even before plugging in, he immediately noted that this was something truly special quality-wise. And the result? It exceeded all expectations.
I’m playing through a mic’d BOSS Katana MKII 100 with a genuine UK-made Celestion V30 — no tricks, no complicated signal chain. Before this, I was using the stock HB pickups and also an Ibanez RG170 loaded with DiMarzio Crunch Lab & LiquiFire humbuckers, but I never managed to get a truly punchy, inspiring tone. Then these pickups happened. The difference was shocking:
Sparkly, intelligent, yet full-bodied cleans, and extremely aggressive, articulate crunch and high-gain tones, even the notes on the low B string. No matter how I set the amp, everything sounds great — even with the guitar volume rolled back. This versatility is extremely important for worship music (at least for me), where you need everything from ambient cleans and acoustic-like tones all the way to creamy lead sounds and heavily modulated, almost alien-like textures. These pickups made all of that possible — and with a very unique, distinctive sonic character. Of course, the guitar itself is already great, but this upgrade clearly took it to a completely different level. I’ve been playing electric guitar for over 10 years, and this definitely feels like something next level. Huge thanks to Lundgren Guitar Pickups for the extra care and craftsmanship — it really means a lot that they’re willing to build a perfectly tailored, special-order set even for a random musician like me.
Worth every single cent. Highly recommended — and not just for “high-gain kids.” Cheers 🤘

I have been thinking about doing something about the tone of my 7-string Jackson V guitar for a long time. I have never managed to adjust the pickups or the amplifier so that the tone of the thickest strings is clear and with sufficient attack, always sounded blurry and diffuse. My guitar colleague has Lundgren M6 on his and I got to test it on my amplifier and "voila", there was the tone I was looking for. That's why I ordered a kit M7C and now my guitar sounds fantastic and is real fun to play.
Crystal clear tone on all strings and heavy body in the midrange.
It will be a dream to record the next album with this setup!
I'd been wondering for years if I should replace the pickups in my guitar and finally decided to bite the bullet and purchased the Lundgren M7C set. Now snarling with aggression with expressive split-coil options (suggested by Johan himself) my guitar feels like it has a wider tonal range than with what I had before. I am significantly more satisfied with every chug and pinch harmonic - the string clarity when playing big 7-stringed chords caught me off-guard in the best way possible.
All of this coupled with comprehensive back-and-forth emails with the team has led to a very happy customer... Can't wait to plug into some high-gain tube amp stacks very soon!
